North Norfolk Bed and breakfast

When planning a trip to North Norfolk you can find many great B&B establishments  we talked  in our last post about some of the reasons to choose a B&B holiday in North Norfolk.  We also met Val and Andy Kerr at church Farm Barn and the B&B they run.

You have a choice of the Coastal towns and villages or the inland  locations of North Norfolk. But to be honest apart from the historic Market towns of Fakenham and North Walsham  most of the villages are perhaps only 1-3 miles inland with the coastal Road the A149 connecting the majority. So locating two or three North Norfolk B&B establishments for 4-5 day break is very easy.

This Post looks at the Manor House in Trunch which is run by Sue Mason. The village of Trunch sits inland by about two miles west of Mundesley you find easy access to the A149 about a mile and a half to the east and the B1159  Coastal route to the north which connects  Caister in the east  to Sheringham  on the north.

Bed and Breakfast North Norfolk

Lots of discussion recently about what constitutes a great B&B, especially with the arrival of Channel 4′s T.V show Four in a Bed, which gets B&B owners from all over the country to stay in and rate other B&B’s. Which as produced some farcical and hilarious moments of pettiness.

What do you rate the most in a B&B, accommodation, food, welcome, location.  Why would you choose a B&B? over a hotel.

For me it is simple I like the intimacy which they offer the owners are on hand the majority of the time and can correct any issues quickly. You are probably only sharing the accommodation with another 2 – 6 people maximum.  The food is usually sourced locally which in a great food producing county like Norfolk makes a a big difference.

Mostly I love B&B’s though because each one is individual I think people who enjoy the freedom to explore look for B&B’s

One top choice for North Norfolk can be found in the North east corner of the county. This Part of Norfolk is less visited and less developed than other parts so when you find an out of the way B&B you know you are in for a treat.

Not far from North Walsham  near the Village of Eddingthorpe you can find Church Farm Barn. Run by Andy and Val Kerr

Church Farm Barn

Val and Andy have created a luxury B&B in North Norfolk without a luxury price tag

(prices from £95 per room per night)

Each of the three available rooms are en suite with own flat screen TV. Not that you will want to miss out on the beautiful countryside!

The Minimum two night stay might not be enough to fully enjoy this luxury B&B.

North Norfolk Hotels

Here we look at our list of some of the Favorite Hotels in North Norfolk. Picked them out for a variety of reasons, but the broad criteria was to look at the quality of the Hotel itself, the food, the location in North Norfolk.

So in no particular order Hotels in Cromer of which there are a good selection and mix, The Sandcliff & Virginia Court.. Nearby in West Runton and Aylemerton are the Dormy House and Roman Camp Inn.

I have picked out the Cliftonville though as it really represents the splendor of what this Victorian seaside resort was like  120 years ago. But do not be fooled These people are sharp modern Cookies as evidenced by the live webcam which broadcasts a live stream of Cromer all day long.

Other Choices include The Briarfields hotel in Titchwell which has great food a modern feel and overlooks the RSPB reserve next door.

Other hotels in North Norfolk around the Holkham are Caley Hall, The Lodge and Heacham Manor

each of them are wonderful and historic buildings in their own right.

Why not arrange a few days in North Norfolk where you try out a few different hotels. you can follow the coast along the A149 rout which will take you from Cromer to Holkham and many of the other great places to stop along the way.

Crystals in Norfolk

Following on from yesterdays post regarding Crystals in Norfolk yesterday, thought that we might bring you a closer look at the holistic and healing properties of Crystals.

Now as far as Crystals in Norfolk go I am told that for the holistic healing information then the shop in yesterdays post Angels Crystal shop on Guild Hall Hill Norwich is a great place to go ( if you disagree or you offer crystal therapies please feel free to post a comment about yourself and leave your web site link also)

A great source of crystals in Norfolk is also the Little Gems Rock Shop in Cromer North Norfolk. They offer a whole range of Crystals to buy plus fossilsAn Amethyst Agate .

Now Louise and the team at Angels in Norwich can guide you through the healing properties of crystals and how to use them most effectively.

It looks like Crystal healing and therapy makes use of Charkras which are centres of energy in the body and come to us from the Indian religions ( again feel free to comment and correct if I have this wrong)

The Whole feel of the Angels Crystal shop is to provide a calming and relaxing environment from the Moment you walk in the door.

Shopping in Norwich – Crafts and Hobbies

In Norwich and Norfolk there are  a lot of interest in Crystals and semi precious stones, the Crystal shops in Norfolk. Like Angels Crystals can provide you with all the equipment you need to make your own jewelery and ornaments.

Whats more the shop which you can find in Norwich, Norfolk  makes a great place to stop. Norwich is the ‘capital’ city of the Norfolk Broads. given it’s history over the last two thousand years and the fact that the city is a must stop off for anyone holiday on the Broads or in Norfolk. the place is an ideal location for a shop concerned with using crystals for health and Well being and creating some beautiful  gemstone Jewelery.

The Shop is located in a historic part of the city for both Norwich and Norfolk. You can find the store in the magnificent Guild Hall Building which dates back 500 years. and In turn is over looked by the impressive 1920′s City Hall.

Enjoy some Crystal therapy in Norfolk this year when you holiday on the Norfolk Broads this summer.
