Ireland

Boating in Ireland and holidays on the lush green ‘Emerald Isle’ promises a warm friendly atmosphere. Enjoy the tranquil rivers, lakes, moors and forests in a country famous for its spellbinding Celtic legends, monuments and castles.
Become mesmerised by Ireland’s beautiful waterways and beguiling countryside – it will bring you back time and time again. Ireland provides not only the finest but also the longest inland cruising and leisure facility in Europe and our three bases, Belturbet, Carrick-on-Shannon and Portumna are your gateway to a wide variety of cruising experiences.

The total cruising area covers a non-stop cascade of rivers and lakes stretching 335 miles from Belleek in County Fermanagh to Killaloe in County Clare, including a 47-mile link, the Shannon-Erne Canal, connecting the Shannon and the Erne.

The two main waterways, the Shannon and the Erne offer a fantastic choice of lakes and rivers stretching between Belleek in County Fermanagh and Killaloe in County Clare. Enjoy the experience of navigating on large lakes such as Lough Derg or Lough Ree, or spend time cruising the meandering rivers upstream. The hundreds of moorings along the way offer the freedom to tie-up where you please and experience the Irish social scene. Enjoy some traditional Irish folk music, or perhaps even try your hand at some Irish dancing!

There’s plenty to occupy the evenings: welcoming waterside pubs, meeting new friends and Gaelic singsongs ‘til the early hours. Be sure to sample local specialities including fresh salmon, pike and lamb, washed down with famous Irish Guinness, Murphy’s, Irish whiskey or an Irish coffee.

The waterways are also teeming with fish and the visiting angler will enjoy a quality of fishing which is unique to Ireland. Golfing is another sporting activity enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The region boasts many fine quality courses, each offering their own unique scenic backdrop and challenging course designs. As you stop at a riverside pub at the end of the day, you will be won over by the warm and friendly atmosphere and typical Irish welcome exuded by the locals.

Choose your own pace. There is so much to see and do as you cruise through this amazing and beautiful country.
